This prequel takes place 300 years before Game of Thrones and is based on Martin’s extensive history of the Targaryens (entitled Fire & Blood). Dunk and Egg is based on the Dunk and Egg novellas, about Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg. 10,000 Ships focuses on Princess Nymeria and her journey with her people from Essos to Dorne. All of these take place before the events of Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire.
The three other projects in development are 10,000 Ships, Tales of Dunk and Egg, and 9 Voyages/Sea Snake, according to Winter is Coming.
The Hollywood Reporter states the project was never officially confirmed by HBO despite plans for the showing being publicized. The live-action show would’ve focused on the Flea Bottom slums of King’s Landing. Flea Bottom was reported as “in development” earlier this year. Regarding other Game of Thrones-related updates, one project that was originally thought to be in the works is now off the table. The name and details about the second animated project are not yet available. However, Lord Corlys Velaryon, a character from House of the Dragon, once sailed to Yi Ti. Yi Ti was only briefly mentioned in Game of Thrones. Martin’s fictional world, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The society is inspired by Imperial China, and is one of the oldest, most advanced societies in all of George R.R. Yi Ti (or The Golden Empire of Yi Ti) is a land in Essos, far toward the south-eastern edges of this fictional world. The first of these projects is set in an area that never appeared in the original Game of Thrones show.
